New Coffees!

by St. Johns Coffee

A very good Friday to all of you, no pun intended.
What a week it's been! Last week I mentioned we were expecting our shipment of coffee from Timor. It arrived and I've roasted the first batch. And, it exceeds any expectation I'd had for it!
Smooth, smooth, smooth bakers chocolate notes with a subtle sweetness of apricot with a dash of cinnamon and tobacco. Incredible! Also roasted this week was the Nicaragua los Delirios delivering notes of blackberry and chocolate with a very pleasing acidity.
Our shipment of t-shirts arrived this week. We now have long-sleeved t's in both women's and men's sizes as well as some nice feminine short-sleeved women's t's in a silky soft cotton.
As things continue to get busier here at the shop, some have experienced longer than desired wait-times. My apologies for that. We have adjusted staffing schedules so hopefully that will no longer be an issue. One of those nasty "growing pains".
For those of you who are trivia fans, I'd like to invite you to participate in my friend Steven Joiner's "Beer is Thicker Than Blood" trivia project. It is being held at the St. Johns Beer Porch, on Thursday evenings starting at 7pm, now through May 28th.  This event is to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and promises to be a lot of fun.
The St. Johns Beer Porch is located within Kreuger's Farm Market at 7316 N. Lombard. So come on out, help a good cause and have a good time in the process.
Jessica is at Food Front Northwest today from 11am - 2pm, handing out samples of our coffees offered there. If you're in the area, please stop by and give them a try.
This past Wednesday, I had the pleasure of hosting a coffee tasting for several women who had never been to the shop previously. These events are always fun and informative. It's great getting to not only share our coffees but share our story and passion as well as hearing others' stories.

A customer visited our shop yesterday and captured some delightful images as well as leaving us a stellar review on Yelp. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to visit us, I hope you'll feel inspired to do so when you're able.
Meanwhile many thanks for your continued support and keep the coffee flowing.
